OREGON -- Although the news story says the baby is a year old, a commenter says the baby was just three weeks old.
A three-week-old baby boy was taken to the hospital Tuesday morning after being attacked by a Jack Russell terrier in east Springfield.
The dog bite to the boy’s head and face was reported at 11:04 a.m. from a residence on Industrial Avenue, according to dispatch logs. The boy was taken to PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Springfield for treatment. Details on his condition were not available Wednesday.
Springfield animal control took a report and is handling the case, police said.
A commenter wrote: "This was a 3 week old baby who was badly bitten by a friend's dog. It happened very quickly and required lots of surgery to repair the damage. Never trust an animal around your babies."
