United Kingdom: "He didn't stand a chance", says mom after beloved dog ripped from daughter's arms and ripped apart by pit bull

UNITED KINGDOM -- A horrified mother has been left devastated after her family dog was torn apart in her 13-year-old daughter’s arms by an illegal pit bull.

Mum-of-five Aimee Goodings, 33, has described her family’s terrifying ordeal after tragedy struck while her children walked their Shih Tzu Teddy aged three years.

Aimee’s eldest children Kaity, 13, and 12-year-old Bobby were out walking Teddy and their Springer spaniel, Buster, on March 29 when Teddy was mauled to death by a pit bull just 100 meters from their home.

Kaity tried to protect the tiny pooch in her coat but was unable to save him from being savaged, and Aimee said the teen has been left traumatized by the incident.

She explained: “The owner let his dogs off the lead and the pit bull went straight for Buster and bit into his underside.

“Bobby somehow managed to fight the dog off Buster and picked him up in his arms and started running back home, and then the pit bull turned on Teddy.

“Kaity said it was dragging him around like a doll but wagging its tail like it was playing.

“Kaity somehow managed to pick Teddy up in her arms and tried to protect him in her coat but the dog was just going for him.

“He was dead instantly, he was so tiny, but at the time she didn’t know.”
