My dog Cooper was viciously attacked by a pit bull on 11/15/2010 he weighed only 8 lbs and because of our love and excellent care he survived!
We were just out for a Sunday walk him on his leash and my other dog sierra when a dog appeared and charged us! Before I had time to get him up like my little girl the dog was on him and what seemed like forever before his owner could get his dog To release my dog from his hold, by beating him with a rod!
Days of surgery and weeks of recovery and all the love in the world, I thank Jesus for allowing us to keep him with us!
PIT BULL WAS NIMBY'D
NIMBY stands for "not in my backyard". It happens when jurisdictions (cities and counties) banish a vicious dog rather than ordering it to be euthanized. The dog is then taken out of their jurisdiction and dumped into another city/county/state WITH NO RESTRICTIONS. No one knows where this dog goes, the new neighbors are not told that a vicious dog is living next door to them or in their subdivision or neighborhood. The dog has no classification (such as vicious dog) so it's under no restrictions (such as being registered with Animal Control or being ordered to wear a muzzle, etc.) and local Animal Control typically has no idea about this dog's history- because no one tells them. So when it attacks again, Animal Control believes it's the first incident with this dog so it'll be given yet another pass to attack a 3rd time.
Their pit bull was not put down, but was removed from the city and over time they reimbursed us for his care charges, this experience changed all oh us forever. Thank you Dr Kate Williams for all you've done for us, animal rescue and our country!
