Utah: Pit bull impounded after three women attacked in Millville

UTAH -- The Cache County Sheriff's Office is investigating a dog attack on three women in Millville on Tuesday afternoon.

Sierra Coe, a 20-year-old resident of Millville, was walking home from the post office when she was attacked by [an adult] pit bull and [a 10-month-old] Great Dane. Both dogs attacked Coe; the pit bull bit her and she screamed for help.


A neighbor, 60-year old Laura Ferguson, witnessed the attack and tried to help. Ferguson was also bitten by the pit bull.

A second witness, 54-year old Kristy Burton, also tried to help and was bitten during the incident.

All three victims had puncture wounds and lacerations from the dogs. One victim was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for her injuries, and the other two victims were taken by private vehicle to receive medical attention, the sheriff's office said.

 
 
 

The pit bull was impounded at the Cache Humane Society, and its owner, Casey Allen, was notified of the incident.

This case is still under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Animal Control deputies and will be reviewed with the Millville city attorney for criminal charges.
