Michigan: Family's pit bull 3-year-old boy, then attacks grandma and mom when they tried to stop it

MICHIGAN -- Three people were rushed to the hospital Friday morning after they were injured in a dog attack.

Warren police on the scene tell FOX 2 a grandmother, mother and a 3-year-old boy were injured at a home in the 21000 block of Logue Avenue, which is near Toepfer and Ryan roads.

We're told the boy was attacked by the family dog, a pit bull. The grandmother and mother were also injured when they intervened. When police arrived at the home, they say the dog also charged at them.

Police tell us the dog has been put down.

FOX 2 is also working to learn what led up to the attack. We're told the boy has serious facial injuries, but the extent of the other family members' injuries is not known at this time.
