Oklahoma: Heath Vanhooser, 44, charged with animal cruelty after police say he left his injured Beagle in such pain it chewed its own foot off
OKLAHOMA -- Heath Sean Vanhooser, 44, of Muskogee is facing felony charges of cruelty to animals after his dog, a beagle named Jack, chewed off its own foot, according to documents filed with the court case.
Jack was hit by a car in October and was treated for injuries at a local vet clinic.
The dog did not, according to an affidavit filed with the case, receive any care after that, prompting it to chew off its front left foot, causing it “severe pain and injury.”
The dog’s left leg had to be amputated below the shoulder, according to the affidavit.
