ARIZONA -- Sheriff's deputies in southwest Arizona arrested a man Monday afternoon for having sex with a horse.
They recovered video evidence of the incident and took 20-year-old Christopherson David Maynes of Dateland, Arizona, into custody.
The Yuma County Sheriff's Office said it received a call Monday just before 5 p.m. about an animal cruelty case.
When deputies arrived at the scene in 1400 block of North Catalina Road, they spoke with the witness who explained the nature of the cruelty against the mare.
Police said the owner of the animal suspected something was going on and set up a camera.
"Deputies were able to recover video evidence of the suspect [raping the animal]," stated YCSO's Alfonso Zavala.
Maynes has been booked into the Yuma County Detention Center on bestiality, indecent exposure and animal cruelty charges.
If you have any information about this investigation, call YCSO at 928-783-4427 or 78-CRIME to remain anonymous.
