Colorado: Animal Control officer helps woman fix her fence after he responded to a call about her dog getting out and running loose

COLORADO -- Denver Police Department posted on Facebook  May 30, 2017 ·

TIP OF THE HAT TUESDAY: DAS OFC. MARTINEZ

Today, we at the Denver Police Department are tipping our hats to Animal Protection Officer Martinez of the Denver Animal Shelter.

Back in April, Officer Martinez responded to a report of a loose dog and was able to track down its owner.

The owner, an elderly woman, explained that her pup kept getting loose because her fence was broken. The woman also relayed that she paid someone to fix it, but they took her money without fulfilling their end of the transaction.

Officer Martinez inspected the fence and realized it only needed some minor repairs. So, the officer went out and bought the supplies needed to fix the fence, then he returned to do the labor himself.

Thanks to Officer Martinez, who went above and beyond the call of duty, the woman’s pup is now safe and secure in the yard.

We’re paws-itive Officer Martinez is a swell guy! Hats tipped…
