California: This Cat Visits A High School So Often, They Issued Him His Own 'Student' ID Card

CALIFORNIA -- This is Bubba, a cat so popular at Leland High School in San Jose, California he was issued his own "student" ID card.

Bubba is not a stray cat, but a close neighbor to the high school. The Marienthal family's yard backs up to the school's campus.

"We tried to keep him as an indoor cat but he refused to stay in," Amber Marienthal told Good Morning America.

Everyone at the school in on board, allowing the cat to roam freely in and out of classrooms.

"We have never gotten a complaint," Marienthal added.

"He sat on my lap and took a nap while I was taking my Spanish final," a student shared.

Bubba's always the first one to arrive on campus. He sits at the school's door every morning waiting for teachers and students to arrive.

The friendly cat has made the school's yearbook and newspaper, and was even the cover model for last year's senior magazine.

He is also the subject of his own Facebook page, which has more than 50,000 fans.
