Texas: Boy, 10, and woman attacked by Belgian Malinois

TEXAS -- Two people were attacked by a dog Thursday morning, one of those people ended up being taken to the hospital.

The attack just happened just after 7:30 a.m. in the 5700 block of Del Starr Drive in Corpus Christi.

One woman in her 40's and a male child were bitten by the dog, according to Officer Christina Brown with Animal Control. The child, 10 or 11 years of age, had a bite wound to the leg and was the one taken to the hospital.

Brown said the injuries were not severe and the child was taken to the hospital more as a precaution.

Brown said it doesn't seem as if the dog is always aggressive.

"He actually, once the owner came out, he was really nice and once I got him back here, he was actually really nice. He seems to be more territorial aggressive," Brown said.

The dog was taken by Animal Control for a 10 day rabies quarantine.

Note: Although the article doesn't say the breed, based on the really narrow face, I'm tagging as a Belgian Malinois.
