Colorado: Golden Eagle rescued after car wreck on US 24 west of Colorado Springs

COLORADO --  A golden eagle is safe after she was rescued by a Colorado Parks and Wildlife official following a car wreck on US 24 in Teller County.

An official said a juvenile eagle – later identified as a female golden eagle – was resting in a kennel after she was rescued from a car wreck along US 24 in “driving rain.”

Ben Meier, the CPW officer who rescued the eagle, “suspected it was involved in the wreck,” but did not say exactly how.

The eagle was rescued on US 24 west of Divide, the official said.
