Mississippi: 4-year-old girl in critical condition after being mauled by pit bull

MISSISSIPPI -- A four-year-old girl was attacked by a pit bull in west Wayne County on Wednesday afternoon.

According to Wayne County Sheriff Jody Ashley, the child walked up to the dog before being mauled.

The child was airlifted to a Jackson hospital in critical condition, according to Ashley.
