Pennsylvania: Pit bull chases and attacks 4-year-old boy at East Berlin park

PENNSYLVANIA -- A 4-year-old boy was chased and attacked by a pit bull while in East Berlin Community Park with his mother on July 26 at about 8 p.m.

The boy was riding his bicycle in the park with his mother when a tan colored pit bull bit his ankle, according to a Pennsylvania State Police news release.

The dog was on a leash being walked by a woman. The woman and the boy's mother had a brief conversation, but no identifying information was exchanged between the two, the release states.


The mother took the boy to Gettysburg Hospital for the bite. His skin was broken and it was determined to be a minor injury, police said in the release.

Witnesses and anyone with information on the incident are asked to contact Pennsylvania State Police at 717-334-8111.
