EARLIER ARREST:
South Carolina: Nicholas Hull-Martinez, 19, arrested after infant injured after drug-fueled rampage

SOUTH CAROLINA -- Camden police charged a 19-year-old man after he allegedly injured an infant when he assaulted his mother and another woman while high on synthetic pot.

Officers responded to a call Wednesday morning at the Deluxe Inn located at 311 E. DeKalb Street. They were met by two women who said Nicholas Hull-Martinez assaulted them when they tried to kick him out of their room, where he occasionally stayed. He was smoking synthetic pot (or Spice), one of the women said. The baby, who had blood around its mouth the incident report stated, was injured when the woman holding him was pushed into a door by Hull-Martinez.

Officers found the young man, in a confused, incoherent state, in the hall near his mother’s room. Later, he admitted fighting with his mother when she told him to stop smoking the synthetic pot.

He and the baby were taken to the hospital for evaluation.

Hull-Martinez was charged Thursday with 2nd degree assault.

The baby’s injuries were not thought to be serious.
