Louisiana: Tina Pounds' family posts some updates about her slow recovery after being mauled by a Pit Bull

LOUISIANA -- You may remember Tina Pounds.

Back in 2016, she was horribly mauled by a Pit Bull while bravely protecting her grandson from the dog. She was injured very, very severely and has had multiple surgeries in an effort to try to get her life back.

Her GoFundMe page is still active as her medical bills are never-ending. She and her family periodically post updates. Here are a couple recent ones:

From Tina's mom:

Surgery done. Closing now. Dr just left us. Went well. Tissue came from forearm rather than thighs. Will be in ICU at least tomorrow will see her in about an hour. Blood vessels routed though carotid artery. Will need skin graft in about 3 weeks All so complicated. Too tired to even think now but she is good and I'm so thankful.

Just got back to the room. Finally got to see Tina. Could hardly hold it together when I saw her. It is not a pretty site. But it will get better after swelling goes down and the drains come out, etc, etc. don't know if I can sleep tonight. We will go back up in the morning. She is on morphine drip. Will post more tomorrow. Thank you, everybody, thank you so much.

From Tina's daughter, Chelsey Pounds:

Photo is from after the original attack. Can only post one photo at a time.

From her daughter Lacey this morning:

Thank you to everyone for the well wishes! I just spoke with mom and she sounds absolutely amazing, like her old self. We had quite the scare yesterday, thus the extra day in ICU, but we are looking good now! Hopefully going home on SaturdayWhoop Whoop!

GOFUNDME: Support for Tina's Recovery

Note: Since the attack, Tina has been quite vocal online about her feelings regarding these types of dogs. You'll find her posting occasionally online after yet-another Pit Bull attack on a child, pet or person. She's been there, done that - and her words, speaking as a Pit Bull attack survivor, speaks volumes.
