New York: Deputies Say Misty Leonard Broke Into House To Steal A Dog

RED CREEK, NEW YORK -- A woman from Red Creek was arrested Wednesday night after deputies said she burglarized a man's home.

According to deputies, a man said someone went into his home on Butternut Street in Lyons without his permission. That person then took his dog and some of his mail, according to deputies.

Neighbors reported seeing 28 year old Misty Leonard at the home. When police questioned her Leonard  admitted she took the animal and the mail.


Deputies said they arrested Leonard around 8:45 p.m. She was charged with second-degree burglary in the second degree and petit larceny.

She was arraigned in front of the Town of Galen Justice, and was remanded to the Wayne County Jail in lieu of $500 cash.
