Washington: Woman smashes car window and rescues Black Lab suffering from heat exhaustion after owner says he "forgot" about him

WASHINGTON -- POLICE BEAT - ANIMAL CRUELTY – WOODINVILLE REDMOND RD

Concerned citizens called to report a dog left in a hot car. Per the reporting person she was requesting to break out a window due to the state of the dog inside.

A deputy arrived and found the black lab laying on the ground with people surrounding it.

The dog appeared to be in tremendous distress and the deputy wrote the dog was “panting so hard that its rib cage was expanding and depressing several inches in rapid succession.

All the dog could do was lay there as the owner, who was now on scene poured water onto the dog. The dog could not stand and appeared to have lost all control of its motor skills.

The owner admitted to “forgetting” about his dog. The owner was directed to immediately get his dog to a vet.

This case has been forwarded to King County Animal Control for additional follow-up.
