Adonis Knighton was dropped off at his residence in Oak Park on Thursday, October 5, and after exiting the vehicle, he was viciously attacked by a pit bull.
The man who transported Knighton to his home intervened and was able to get the dog off of Knighton, but not before he suffered serious injuries to both of his legs and one of his sides.
Had the other individual not still been at the scene, Knighton, who feared for his life, said the attack could have been much worse.
Coffee County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the scene, though it is not known if the dog that attacked Knighton was located.
Knighton, who is uninsured, is currently recovering from his injuries.
Anyone wishing to donate to assist in his medical expenses is asked to call 912-592-7127.
The Enterprise sends prayers to Mr. Knighton and wishes him a speedy recovery.
