New York: Samantha Vanderwall Ticketed For Leave Dog Out In The Broiling Sun

NEW YORK -- A Clifton Springs woman was ticketed September 26th after the Ontario County Humane Society and deputies responded to a complaint of a dog being kept outside in a metal cage in the direct sunlight on a 90 degree day.

The owner was not at home at this location and the dog a male mixed terrier was secured and taken to the Humane Society to be treated for exposure.

The owner 32 year old Samantha Vanderwall, knew the dog was at the shelter but made arrangements to retrieve him.


She was charged with Animal Abandonment (Animal Cruelty), Having an Inadequate Shelter for a dog and having an Unlicensed and Unvaccinated Dog.

She will appear in the Village of Clifton Springs Court at a later date to answer these charges.

King remains at the Ontario County Humane Society.
