Today has been one of the saddest days for my family.

Burbank and I were both attacked by 2 pit bulls. They literally ripped her from my arms and she didn't make it. I can't even put into words how broken I feel.

This should have never happened. Everyone that has met Burbank knows she is the sweetest dog they have ever met. Our home will never be the same without her. Burb came home with me from California and has been with me through thick and thin. We even shared a pillow every night. Our hearts are so so broken.

The tragic event has been replaying over and over in my head. I do feel lucky that I wasn't hurt worse or my niece who was with me. This was at my home.

A friend came over and the dogs jumped out of the car window and both dogs literally charged me and attacked me from both sides. They got me on the ground and took Burbank right from my hands. They took no commands from the owner and repeatedly attacked over and over.

Please keep us and especially my girls in your prayers. Zolah is really lost without her best friend.

Everyone with Pits. I realize there is this group of people that are constantly protecting this breed as they are not all mean. Both of these dogs 'snapped' on me and their owner (who also ended up in the ER with stitches) and my precious Dachshund.

These were pits that were raised since babies with this family and claimed to never been mean. They both attacked me and ripped my 9-lb dog out of my hands. So yes, I'm against people owning this type of dog. They are untrustworthy.

Our hearts are broken because some people need to have these "bad ass" dogs. I don't want anyone to give me your pits "nice" story. Please just be aware what they are capable of.

A special thanks to my family and friends that came over to help us bury her with our favorite blanket my grandma knitted and with our family photos. I'll miss this girl forever.
