BUTTE, MT -- Butte Silver Bow Animal Services officials say a 7-year-old girl was attacked by a pit bull cross while playing in Butte.
Director Ed Randall says the dog bit the girl's arm Friday evening. She ran away from the dog and it jumped on her back and bit her a few more times.
The girl was taken to the hospital for treatment of her injuries.
KXLF-TV reports the dog will be quarantined for at least 10 days while animal services determines if it is up to date on its rabies vaccinations.
A court hearing is scheduled Thursday to determine if the dog should be euthanized.
