FORT WORTH, TX -- Fort Worth Police are investigating after a woman says she was attacked by five dogs early Thursday morning.
When officers got the 911 call just after 3 a.m., they arrived to the 1700 block of Vaughn Blvd to find the woman laying on a curb with blood and gashes on her.
The woman told police she was walking down Vaughn when five pit bulls started to attack her, a police report said. Two other people said they also saw the dogs attack.
The dogs were no longer there when police arrived.
The woman was transported to JPS Hospital for her injuries, which included bite marks from her neck, back and legs, according to police.
The two witnesses pointed police to a home where they believed the dogs lived. Officers spoke with that homeowner, who showed them his backyard.
“He has three dogs, two black mastiffs and one white,” officers wrote in their police report. “Each dog was in a separate cage and no hole or way to escape was observed.”
Police are still investigating.
