OHIO -- A Youngstown woman and her son are facing charges after police said their home was found in deplorable condition.
Debra Hawkins and Adam Hawkins were charged Tuesday morning with cruelty to animals and noxious odors after officers found four emaciated dogs in their house on Evanston Avenue.
Police said every room of the house was wall-to-wall dog feces.
Officers said that water to the house had been shut off in February, but someone was still using the upstairs toilet, which was overflowing onto the floor.
The Hawkinses are due back in court later this month.
