ORLANDO, FL -- Orange County deputies received a 911 call from 4269 Tymberwood Lane about a 2-year-old that was bitten by a pit bull.
The caller told the dispatcher that the child was playing with the dog when it suddenly lashed out and latched on to the child's face, deputies said.
A neighbor got a gun from his home and shot the dog in the neck, but the dog did not die, deputies said.
The child was taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
