WV -- A baby was reportedly mauled by a Rottweiler dog Sunday night at Varney.
Mingo County 911 received a call Sunday night at 7:40 p.m. from a woman who said she was house sitting for her sister and a Rottweiler dog attacked her two-year-old.
The woman told 911 that the baby was bleeding from its ear and head and that she was unsure of the baby’s exact wounds before hanging the phone up.
STAT Ambulance arrived on the scene and transported the baby to the South Williamson Appalachian Regional Hospital in South Williamson, Ky.
The dog owner’s identity was not available at press time and no arrests had been made in the incident.
The condition of the child was also not available at press time.
The incident happened near the old Varney Church of God building.
Mingo County 911 referred The Logan Banner to the Mingo County Dog Warden for further comment.
According to his wife who answered the phone, Mingo County Dog Warden William “Peanut” Queen was not available for comment.
