CLINTON TWP., NJ -- A boy on a bicycle was bitten by a leashed dog as they passed each other on Aug. 3, police reported.
Around 10:40 a.m., Patrolman Sean Ross was called to East Street and found that a 9-year-old township boy was riding his bike on that road when he was bitten on his left calf by a dog that was being walked by its owner on a leash. The owner immediately pulled the dog away from the boy, police said.
Although the bite broke the skin in a small area and caused a minor amount of bleeding, Ross did not observe any puncture marks, police said. The boy’s mother was contacted and said that she would take the boy to the doctor.
In addition, Clinton Township Animal Control Officer Doug Rohl responded and confirmed that the dog’s owner possessed all necessary and current paperwork for the dog.
No charges were filed.
