Fraser couple attacked by pet pit bull

MICHIGAN -- A Fraser couple suffered numerous injuries when they were attacked by their pet pit bull, police said.

The incident occurred shortly before 6:45 p.m. Thursday. Lt. Dan Kolke of the Fraser Public Safety Departmetn said officers who responded to a home near 13 Mile and Kelly roads found a 38-year-old man and 37-year-old woman suffering from numerous dog bites.

Kolke said the man had as many as 12 open wounds to his arms, legs and torso while the woman was bitten on her forearms and both legs. Police did not characterize the severity of the injuries.

When officers arrived, the dog was locked in the basement of the home. The animal was eventually removed from the house by Fraser public safety and animal control officers.
