Lopez's mother testified earlier this week before a grand jury. Kimberly Sheppard and Michael Hanes were accused of failing to properly secure those dogs.
The two dogs that attacked him were put down, and just this week their owners, Sheppard and Hanes, found out that they are not responsible criminally for the attack.

Even though the dogs got loose, the couple had previously taken measures to secure the dogs by building a new kennel, so the grand jury claimed they could could not find enough evidence to return a criminal indictment.
Now, the wounded 10-year-old is opening up for the first time about that terrifying ordeal and talking exclusively to Eyewitness News.
"They haven't been hurting a lot lately," Lopez said.
At 10 years old, Lopez has endured more pain than most people will experience in a lifetime. And he's got the scars to prove it.
"I tried to run. They came at me too fast," he said.
Nearly three months ago, Lopez was viciously attacked by two pit bull mixes while riding his bike.
"When the two dogs were right here, I grabbed my bike and I pushed them away," Lopez said.
He remembers every detail.
"First the pit bull bit the back of my legs and then the two dogs started fighting each other. I don't know. I think they were fighting over who gets to kill me," Lopez said.
They might have killed him had it not been for two women in the neighborhood who heard his screams for help and fought them off.
"I just want to say thank you because if it wasn't for them, I wouldn't even be here," Lopez said.
After six surgeries and two months of physical therapy, Lopez is out of the hospital, back in school but not quite himself.
All Lopez can think about is getting back to the way things used to be.
"I really want to go out and play instead of sitting around the house doing nothing," he said.
