Dog shot, killed after attacking woman

OHIO -- Deputies in Harrison Township said a woman suffered injuries when she was attacked by a pit bull.

The attack happened in the 2400 block of Wheeler Avenue.



The 55-year-old woman told deputies that she was headed to her car when her neighbor's pit bulls were out. She said one dog attacked her and pull her out of her car by her arm.

Deputies arrived and the dog let go of the woman. The dog was shot and killed by deputies.


The woman received several bite wounds and was taken to Miami Valley Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Deputies said the other dog, who was not involved, ran home once shots were fired. That dog will not be removed from the house.


The pit bull belonged at the yellow house. The victim lives in the pink
house and was dragged from her black car by the pit bull.

The owner of the dogs faces citations based on the incident.

Animal Control was called and removed the dead dog from the scene.
