Gatineau dog owner attacked by own pit bull

CANADA -- A 27-year-old Gatineau, Que., man might have to have his arm amputated after his dogs, including one pit bull, turned on him.

Gatineau police say they found the dog owner on the floor of his Hull sector apartment Sunday morning with serious injuries.

When both police and paramedics tried to give the man emergency care, his two dogs continued to act aggressively.

Police said they first pepper sprayed the dogs but that did not work. They then shot each of them twice.

The man was transported to hospital and police said he may have to have his arm amputated due to the attack.
