Pity poor "Your Highness" who will probably be killed by the family's other dog, a pit bull |
The teen, Jamire Jamison, was walking his dog, “Your Highness”, down Lemon Hill Ave. when the dogs attacked. “Your Highness” as well as Jamire were bit. “In the process of pulling off the pit bulls from his small animal his hand was punctured,” explained Sacramento Police Officer Patrick Mulligan.
Jamire was taken to the hospital, treated and quickly released; however, “Your Highness” had deep puncture wounds on his hind legs.
“I feel like crying,” said Jamire’s mother, Prometheus.
Police were easily able to round up the two pit bulls, and found their owner who said her name was “Cheri”. She adds she’s never had a problem with her dogs.
[Isn't that what they always say after an attack? I"ve never had a problem like this before! He's never bitten anyone before!]
“They go to the dog park. They’re very socialized. They love people,” said Cheri.
Police actually backed that up.
“The two pit bulls in question they’re very, very friendly,” said Mulligan. “They just hopped in the car as we waited for animal control.”
[There's a saying that it's better to keep your mouth shut and have people think you're a fool rather than open your mouth and prove them right. Officer Mulligan has proven that he is a FOOL.]
Both dogs are licensed and vaccinated; a sign of a responsible pet owner.

In another responsible move, Cheri surrendered both dogs and may have them put down.
“That would be very, very hard,” said a tearful Cheri, “Those are like my kids.”
In an unexpected twist, the victims’ family doesn’t want her to.
“We told her we want her to keep the dogs because they’re great pets,” said family friend Earl Cropper.
“I don’t think pit bulls are bad dogs,” said Prometheus. “We actually have a pit bull also and she’s sweet as she can be.”
[Good Lord. Please let this woman, named Prometheus(!), do the responsible thing and give "Your Highness" to someone who will love it and actually protect it. Do you notice the whole article is about how 'nice' and 'friendly' these attacking pit bulls are, that the victim's family has a pit bull themselves and says the attacking dogs are 'great dogs' and that heck, even the cop says they're great dogs! Do you see even one time any sympathy for the little white dog that was attacked? Sympathy for the pain this dog is going through? The terror she felt? No one gives a rat's you-know-what about what happened to her. I can't help but think this poor little dog will have a sad fate of being torn apart by dogs while being walked or will eventually be mauled to death by the family pit bull. Ugh.]
Either way, police said this incident serves as a lesson for pet owners to ask if they have too much dog for their property. “If so, you need to think of some alternatives,” said Mulligan.
