Girl Attacked By Dogs On Way To School

OKLAHOMA -- Three dogs attacked a girl walking to school on Monday, and she had to be rushed to a local hospital.

The owner of the dogs that attacked the 12-year-old was issued 10 tickets by Oklahoma City animal control officers. Authorities said the owner got those tickets because their animals were off their leashes, didn't have their rabies vaccinations and then attacked the girl.

Angela Ojeda was walking to Crooked Oak schools after missing the school bus on Monday morning, animal control officers said. She was attacked in the 1700 block of South Jordan Avenue and was taken by paramedics to Integris Southwest Medical Center.

Ojeda talked to Eyewitness News 5 about the incident. She said the three dogs jumped on her, bit and scratched her, and ripped a hole in her pants.

Animal control officers told Eyewitness News 5 that Monday's incident was not the first time they have been called to a dog bite at the house in question.

Officers said have been called to the neighborhood several times about dogs off leashes, which is illegal in Oklahoma City.

Ojeda was treated and released at a local hospital, and she will be OK, authorities said.
