DELAWARE -- A 74-year-old Ellendale woman who was mauled by her daughter’s pit bull September 19 is continuing to recover according to her granddaughter.
Heather Hitchens says Patricia Murphy has been moved from Christiana Hospital to a rehab facility in Milford; Hitchens says her grandmother is continuing to improve every day.
Murphy lost her left arm from the elbow down when she went to visit her daughter and was mauled by her dog.
The dog was put down when it became aggressive towards Delaware State Police who responded to the home.
Murphy’s daughter said she didn’t realize her mother had returned to the home and had let the dog out of a room where it was being kept while her mother visited.
