Pit bull seized from Fruitvale home

COLORADO -- According to the Mesa County Sheriff's Office, a pit bull bit a 20 year old woman on the thigh, leaving her with a two-inch gash, and sending her to the hospital.

Deputies were called to the house at 564 Pearwood Court around 8:45 Tuesday night.

When they arrived, they found several pit bulls in the home and the backyard. They say the owner was not home at the time.

The woman was taken to the hospital and the dog was impounded by Mesa County Animal Control officers because it did not have documentation. The dog has been quarantined.

Investigators say a man was arrested at the scene. They say Glen Hunt had outstanding warrants, but it is not clear what Hunt was wanted for.
