Woman accused of neglecting horse, causing its death in Weisenberg Township

PENNSYLVANIA -- A Lehigh County woman is accused of neglecting a horse's health to the point that the animal died.

Pennsylvania State Police at Fogelsville say Michelle D. Miller, 45, of the 2900 block of Golden Key Road, Weisenberg Township, neglected to feed and provide necessary veterinary care for the 17-year-old Fjord mare.

The horse was surrendered to the Last Chance Ranch, in Quakertown, on Dec. 3 and died Monday, from being extremely emaciated, according to a news release.

Miller has been charged with cruelty to animals.

Lehigh County property records show Miller lives at the address where the horse was kept. There was no answer this morning at phone number listed for the property.
