Dog owner sought after savage attack in Belper

UNITED KINGDOM -- Police are trying to trace the owner of a dog which savaged a Jack Russell terrier in Belper.

The attack happened on Wednesday, December 14, between 9am and 10am, when a woman was walking with two Jack Russells and her small daughter in fields at the back of Nottingham Road.

She said a sandy-coloured Staffordshire terrier-type dog came from the Bullsmoor area and attacked one of her dogs, tossing it around.

The owner of the offending dog eventually got it on its lead.

He then left in the direction of Kirk’s Lane.

He is described as a 50-year-old man with a big belly and dark thick-rimmed glasses.  He also had a white dog.
