A kid loses his ears, the pit bull owners get probation. Justice???

TENNESSEE -- A Cocke County Couple will receive supervised probation after their dog allegedly attacked their 10-year-old neighbor and bit off his ears.

Jennifer Switzer and Anthony Lugar pleaded guilty to allowing an animal to run at large causing serious bodily injury.

Wednesday, Judge Rex Henry Ogle sentenced them both to two years of supervised probation, which was the maximum allowed.

Switzer and Lugar requested judical diversion which the judge will consider at a hearing in March.

[Judicial diversion means that, as long as you don't get yourself in trouble badly enough that you get arrested during your probation period, this charge will be wiped off your record - as if it had never happened.]

According to authorities, the couple's dogs attacked Brandon Williams in his driveway in August. The boy lost both of his ears from the attack.

His community has hosted several fundraisers to help pay for reconstructive surgery and other medical expenses.

[Have the dog owners hosted any fundraisers to help pay for this little boy's surgery? What have they done??]
