Woman attacked by neighbor’s dogs

OHIO -- A 25-year-old woman leaving her duplex on East 34th Street was attacked by two of her neighbors dogs on Jan. 3, according to a Lorain police report.

She was walking down the driveway when her neighbors’ dogs, Athena, a medium bulldog mix, and Chica, a small Pit bull mix,  broke free from their shared leash. Her neighbor, Scott Michael Schooley Sr., called for the dogs to come to him. The dogs didn’t follow his command and instead, came toward the woman.

Athena bit her on the right shin. Then Chica bite her on the left forearm. Police observed punctured skin and bruising. She was taken by LifeCare to Mercy Hospital for treatment.
The neighbor secured the dogs after the attack.

Schooley, the owner of Athena, was issued summons for confinement of dogs, annual registration, rabies immunization and registration of vicious animals. Miranda Kuhns, the owner of Chica, was issued summons for annual reregistration, rabies immunization and registration of vicious animals. Both have a court date set for Jan. 10 at 9 a.m.
