UNITED KINGDOM -- A mother has appealed to the owner of a dog which attacked her son to come forward.
Sharon Hudson, of Park Avenue, Bodelwyddan, said her Christmas had been spoiled after her son Joshua, eight, was bitten by a highland terrier outside Barclays Bank on High Street, Rhyl, on Christmas Eve.
The dog’s owner fled the scene but Ms Hudson wants the woman to come forward and apologise.
She said: “I was at the bank and my son ran to the bakery to get a gingerbread man. I was getting money out when he came over and told me he’d been bitten.
“I tried to see who had done it but the woman had gone. She was about 40-50 years old with dark hair.
“I’m so annoyed, why did she walk away when my boy had been bit? At the end of the day that dog shouldn’t have been out.”
“We tried to get on and enjoy ourselves, but it’s really spoiled Christmas.
Mrs Hudson said her son had been suffering flashbacks after the attack, and was suffering from bite marks and scratches.
“He’s been shocked since. He’s been brought up around dogs and never had a problem, but he’s nervous now.
“When we’re out, every time he sees a woman who looks like her he says “mummy, there’s that lady” - it’s obviously playing on his mind.”
Police said they were making inquiries into the incident.
