Police shoot 2 dogs dead during drug bust

CANADA -- Police shot and killed two dogs Sunday in Tilbury while executing what they called a "high-risk" search warrant.

Chatham-Kent Police tactical officers were met by two American bulldogs at a home on Louise Street.

The officers tried to corral the animals, but said they were forced to shoot them when they would not back away. A third dog was not harmed during the incident.

Police said they seized marijuana, cocaine, oxycodone, methadone, and stolen property, including a crossbow.

Four people in the home were arrested.

A 21-year-old man, and a 19-year-old man, both from Tilbury, are charged with break and enter, and drug possession for the purpose of trafficking.

A 25-year-old Stoney Point man and a 19-year-old Tilbury woman were charged with possession.

[Funny how drug dealers love to have American Bulldogs, pit bulls, American Pit Bull Terriers, Staffordshire Terriers,  Rottweilers, etc to guard this drug houses. It's so odd, though, because we're constantly being told that these dogs aren't any more vicious than any other dog; that the owner "makes" the dog mean. If that's true, how come we never hear of Shih-Tzus and Golden Retrievers guarding drug houses?]
