Boy may need surgery after dog attack

OHIO -- A nine-year-old Ohio boy was treated with stitches and may need plastic surgery to repair his face after a neighbor’s Labrador retriever attacked him Friday.

According to the Coldwater Police Department, the attack happened around 3:30 p.m. Friday, while the boy was playing football in a neighbor’s yard at 808 Oakwood Drive.

The boy’s parents contacted police the next day, but indicated they did not want the matter to be criminally investigated any further.

Police contacted Mercer County Dog Warden Tom Powell, who ordered the dog quarantined for 14 days while a follow-up investigation is conducted.
