Racist pit bull owners verbally assault news crew

MICHIGAN -- Neighbors say an elderly woman was attacked by pit bulls while taking a walk in Sterling Heights. While covering the story on Monday, our FOX 2 news crew was verbally attacked by the dog's owners.

FOX 2's Alexis Wiley spoke with Andrew Serocki and his wife Kathy, who say they saw two neighborhood pit bulls maul a 68-year-old woman Sunday morning on Tahiti St.

Kathy says she saw the dogs running down the street and alerted her husband. Andrew ran out of the house in only his underwear and was able to fend off the dogs but not before they bit the woman between her legs and seriously injured her arm.

Wiley reports the women was rushed to the hospital and the dogs were eventually confiscated.

When Wiley approached the dogs' owners at their home, she was met with several verbal threats and a racial slur. Wiley says the commotion was so intense, she called police to the scene.

[The reporter knocks on the door to ask for a statement and the woman at the door tells her something like, "You know about trespassing laws..." before slamming the door. Then, when the reporter sets up their camera across the street - ON PUBLIC PROPERTY - the man comes out, itching for a fight and has to be verbally and physically instructed by the police officer to leave the news crew alone.

Classy family - look at the female laughing. Is there any concern by these two idiots for the elderly woman who has been mauled by their dogs??! I feel bad for their kids. I would be mortified if these were my parents.]
The dogs' owners face charges of harboring dangerous animals and are expected to be in court on March 28.
