Search On For Man Accused of Meth Making & Sending Dog To Attack Investigators

TENNESSEE -- The Tipton County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man charged with making meth and turning a pit bull loose on police officers among other charges.

Narcotics investigators were executing a search warrant Saturday at 4530 Pickens Store Road in Mason, TN.


Investigators say, “…the K9 team began to approach the residence.  The investigators and deputies encountered Fred Masters, Jr., 44, and his wife, Sharon Hebert, 40 who were outside the residence near the garage. As the investigators approached the duo, Masters turned and unlocked the chain link fence releasing his female pit bull resulting in the attack of Sheriff’s Office personnel and K9 Ero.”

Deputies shot the dog and Masters ran into a wooded area behind the home.

A deputy and K9 officer received minor injuries during the incident.

The pit bull is in custody of Tipton County Animal Control. 

While searching the home, investigators found pseudoephedrine tablets which is the main ingredient in the process of cooking meth, “In additional there was approximately 3 grams of meth, hydrocodone pills, paraphernalia and other meth components within the residence. The West Tennessee Methamphetamine Task Force personnel responded to assist in the proper clean up and disposal of the hazardous materials in the residence.”

Investigators have charged Sharon Hebert with Initiation of Methamphetamine, Promotion to Manufacture Methamphetamine, Possession of Schedule II and Schedule III narcotics with Intent to Sell, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Hebert remains in custody with no bond awaiting her initial appearance In Tipton County General Sessions Court.
