Tomah boy recovering after pit bull attack

WISCONSIN -- The 7-year-old boy from Tomah who was attacked by a pit bull is home recovering.

Dakota Carver received more than 100 stitches and staples.


Carver was riding a bike given to him for his birthday on the driveway when the dog attacked.

One of the child's friends rushed to tell Carver's mother about the situation. When she arrived, the boy was in a pool of blood with the dog hanging onto his neck.

The mother kicked the dog and shielded the child from the animal. Later the boy was placed in a car to wait for an ambulance.

Carver returned home on Monday after four days in the hospital .
