OHIO -- A man shot and killed a dog during an alleged attack on the city's southeast side Monday night.
According to a report filed with Columbus police, the pit bull attacked a man and his family at about 6:20 p.m. Monday on the 4300 block of Bowman Park Lane.
The report said a 37-year-old man fired a single gunshot at the dog to stop the alleged aggressive actions.
The single shot killed the dog.
At the time of the incident, the pit bull was not on a leash, according to the report.
Animal control officers were called to the scene, and conducted an investigation into the incident.
No arrests have been made.
