Pennsylvania: Shawn Gamber, 40, accused of kicking K9 dog, ordered to stand trial

PENNSYLVANIA -- A Somerset County man who police said shouted obscenities, removed his clothes and then dared police to shoot him will plead his case in Cambria County Court.

Geistown police said Shawn E. Gamber, 40, was drunk when he began shouting obscenities and taunting passing motorists along Rosewood Street on May 14.

When a Stonycreek Township police officer arrived, Gamber allegedly took off some of his clothes and ran away. Police later spotted Gamber exiting the woods onto Brentwood Avenue.

“Gamber then took off his shorts, began to yell ‘Shoot me ... I want to die,’ ” a court document reads.

Gamber made growling noises and dared police to release the K-9. He then kicked the dog, police said.

Gamber waived his right to a preliminary hearing on Tuesday before District Judge Max Pavlovich of Richland Township.

He is accused of aggravated assault, taunting a police dog, public drunkenness  and other charges.

Gamber’s last known address is in Boswell. He is free on bond.
