Pit Bull Attacks, Kills Neighbor's Dog

‎COLORADO -- Parker Police took a Parker woman's pit bull into custody after they said it killed a neighbor's Schnauzer.
"The Schnauzer was being walked by its owner, and it was on a leash," said Parker police Officer Sherry Corcoran. "At that point, the pit bull was able to get out of its home and then attacked the dog."
Neighbors said they saw people hitting the pit bull with golf clubs, but it would not let go of the Schnauzer.

"It was incredibly disturbing," said one neighbor, who did not want to be identified.

Police said the pit bull's owner, Anita Richesson, was also bitten while trying to stop the attack.

Officers cited her for having a vicious dog and took the animal into custody for a 10-day quarantine.

After that, the owner will have to appear in court. Police said they have never had any complaints about the pit bull before.

The Schnauzer's owner, Ryan Zoeller, said he believes the dog will not be brought back into the neighborhood.

"I never want to see this happen to someone else's dog or child," said Zoeller.
