NEW JERSEY -- An Ayers Court resident whose pit bull fatally attacked a Bichon Frise on Queen Anne Road on July 12 alleged assaulted a Record photographer outside Teaneck Municipal Building on Aug. 15.
John Youngblood, 33, had just appeared in Teaneck Municipal Court before Judge James Young where he agreed to have the dog neutered and muzzled. He was also fined $95 for violating the Township's leash and license ordinance.
According to Teaneck Police Sgt. Scott Tesser, Young had granted permission to the photographer, whom Tesser did not name because he is considered a victim, to photograph Youngblood in court. The photographer later left the building and waited outside to take more pictures.
After leaving the building, Youngblood allegedly grabbed the photographer's camera, which was looped by a strap around his neck, three times, causing the photographer to be pulled forward which each thrust. It is unknown whether the photographer sought medical attention or whether the camera was damaged.
The photographer signed a complaint for simple assault against Youngblood.
The Bichon Frise was attacked when Youngblood's pit bull broke loose while he was talking to friends in front of 1350 Queen Anne Road. The dog ran across the street and attacked the smaller dog, which was rushed to the Oradell Animal Hospital where it died.
