Pit bull taken from owner after killing another dog

ARKANSAS -- "I'm not happy. I mean, I view Dinky just like I would view one of my kids," said Milton Smith, who has owned pit bull Dinky for five years, until Thursday afternoon. That's when Little Rock Animal Services, with an assist from police, took Dinky away.

"My heart hurts. That's all I can say. I'm sad," said Smith.

Smith isn't the only sad one though. Wanda Henry owns Maltese/Yorkie mix Wiz, who died after an [mauling and attack by] Dinky.

"He was my son's pet first of all but he became our pet," she said. "He was a family dog."

Henry says Wiz left her yard, ran across the street and ended up in Smith's yard, and that's where the attack happened.

"I was devastated because I was outside to see him with the dog in his mouth," she said. "I was devastated."

The incident doesn't surprise neighbor Patsy Dooley. She claims Dinky killed three of her pets, one dog and two cats.

"I'm concerned because like I have a small child, and the dog is out here all the time." said Dooley.

"Unprotected, no leash, no owner, nothing."

For his part though, Smith says Dinky has only had problems with other animals when those animals go into Dinky's yard.

"My dog is not dangerous," he said. "You just saw him. I have little kids here. He is not dangerous."
