CALIFORNIA -- A pit bull dog was placed in quarantine Friday after biting a 3-year-old child on Lower Wyandotte Road.
Butte County Animal Control Program Manager Linda Haller confirmed the incident Friday afternoon and said a child was in an emergency room after being bitten.
The child was reportedly bitten several times in the face, but Haller said she did not know how many times the dog bit the child.
The pit bull is a neutered male that is current on its rabies shots, she said.
The dog was picked up from an address on Lower Wyandotte Avenue, but Haller declined to give further information because the incident is under investigation.
Haller also said she did not know the child's condition.
